color usage on Sharp color machines

Our shop had a color pricing formula they used to determine the amount of color used on a copied or printed color page and would charge the customer based on a formula they set up for the price of the copy. This was used on a Panasonic DP-C406 color copier that they have removed from the floor the first of the year. Is there any way to determine the amount used with the Sharp color copiers? This formula is something I personally never used and very old school. The note on the panasonic copier said function/ counter view/ 40-59/ down arrow 2 times /see %/ average the colors.

If you print/copy your customers document and then run a SIM 22-25 is will show you the coverage for each color that document . It displays LAST PAGE, LAST RESET and TOTAL (average).

I think you would add all 4 together for total coverage.

I have also been warned that 22-25 data might not be accurate. I have printed documents I made knowing the page coverage and could never get 22-25 data to be spot on to what I thoguht it should be.

Kyocera had tiered color, so you could charge people different costs, but it was pretty much a waste. Sales reps would have the customer print their letterhead with a normal amount of text on it, and anything below that coverage percentage would be considered tier 1(cheaper), and anything above would be a higher cost. It was a crappy way to make it seem more enticing to clients, but in the end, parts wore out just the same, we didn't get as much money, and if it weren't for the 3 year warranty, we would have lost so much money selling Kyocera as the slower machines were junk.

I had been looking all over for this info in the service manual and elsewhere but couldn't find it. Even on the copier screen it does not this as an option. Thanks again.
