    BP70 touch screen freezes

Just spent 3 days on the Hotline replacing every board known to man to no avail.

Save yourself some trouble and start by disconnecting the pull out keyboard, I had a shorted "[" key

Oh wow, that's a new one. Haven't had issues with the keyboards since the MX2640 series.

We have been dealing with this for a looong time. There are 3 bulletins regarding this. Ground issues, noise issues. There is special touch panel firmware which fixed it on one of our problem machines. August 2023 a new panel was released to fix this in Europe and a part# provided in one of these bulletins. Still haven't been able to order it as it isn't in the TD Synnex system.

On the other one that still locks up the customer ran a dedicated circuit. We installed a $1500 UPS. Replaced the operation panel twice. Replaced the entire OP panel/keyboard with one from a new machine.

Prior to the new circuit our tester indicated a false ground. After the new circuit we still tested a false ground. We paid $660.00 for a different electrical company to go on site and do a complete analysis of their electrical service. They found no issues.

OP panel locks up on a daily basis, multiple times. We picked up the copier and had and tested it for 60 days with no lock ups.

The two prior copiers at the site had multiple (I think) E7-90's which we were told by Sharp were from bad power. A MX-3070 then a MX-3071. The MX-3071 we bought out the lease and resold it. It has been a year and it hasn't has a single service call so I am confident there is a power issue at the location where we currently have the BP machine installed.

special firmware saved one of ours too...but is has only been 2 days, so hopefully it stays good

strange thing is that i updated to 3.10 firmware, and then updated the special touch panel fw, which updated the touchpanel FW from 3.0 to 5.0

why is this not part of the 3.10 fw?

We had one that were were able to save with a TP replacement. It has been working for 6 months.

When the special TP FW was released our IT tech went out an applied it to every BP we had in the field just because of the complete headache we had been dealing with on the BP that has never been fixed.
