    OCR

    Hello all,

Is it possible to change the font if OCR is enabled?

I can see it on the webpage, but it's greyed-out.

Also, on the machine itself, its greyed out.

We have a customer who scans documents and wants to search for numbers afterwards. The thing is that a 1 gets read as '1 a lot of the times.

Maybe if i can change the OCR font, i can get it to read the "ones" better

You can change the font, if you scan in DOCX or RTF. OCR unfortunately is really bad.... It will get a LITTLE better, when you change the compression rate.

Or you could install Sharpdesk and let the PC do the OCR conversion.

I was talking about the OCR settings on the webpage, not scanning to DOCX.

      They scan in searchable pdf

Anything I try for searchable PDF isn't allowing me to change the font options. Tried on a BP70C55 and a 3071 we have in the office, same exact result. They only became editable once DOCX and such was selected as the file type. Doesn't look like it's possible without 3rd party software.

One of our tech's ended up creating a OCR/searchable PDF function as a batch file on windows, works pretty well, but takes a minute or so to complete the process after scanning in a PDF.

Thing is that OCR doesnt read the "1" correctly if its in ARIAL Bold, and a lot of others for that matter

Tried a bunch of other fonts, and it's better...but not perfect.
