    Dead AR-M 550

Have this AR-M 550 that when I power it on, first inside switch, you can hear some relays on the PWB click on, then the side switch, a couple of fans run, and thats pretty much it.
Had this happen last week, after checking AC and DC pwb's, I reseated the main and boot roms, and the machine powered up, ran rest of that afternoon and next day and all weekend, Mon. it went dead again.
Tried swapping out MFP board, HDD unit, swapping EPROMS also, did no good at all, fans run, some relays cycle, but no power up.
Thinking of the power supplys next, any ideas???

I had a brand new MXM550 which is basically the same machine do the same thing. You could flip the power switches and some fans would come on and hear a few clicks and that was it. We ended up changing the DC power supply.

      Load 7 3/4 x 10 1/2 Paper

I had one like this. The original symptoms were "Load 7 3/4 x 10 1/2 Paper." By the time I arrived it was dead. Fortunately for me I had a donor machine available. I replaced the power supply, then the EEPROMs, then the MFP (and it woke up). Then restored the original PS and EEPROMs (still awake and kickin').

The thing that surprised me was that there were no outputs from the power supply, even when the outputs were unplugged, yet the board was good.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
