    E6-11 on MX3501 color

I have a MX3501 that keeps coughing up E6-11 and prevents the customer from doing double sided copies. When you power cycle the machine it goes away and you can use it again. When i show up the code is there but after i reset it i can never replicate it again. Double sided works fine until i leave (magic fingers). I have swapped the CCD that comes out the front of the DF with another machine and still no change. With the front cover off you can see the lamp comming on. I can also run shading correction for the DSPF and it always comes up complete and the values show up.

Ive spoke with another fellow and he asked me to check to make sure a spring that tensions a belt was not broken shorting out the board and no staples etc under the board all which are fine.

    Any thoughts?

Yes, had this one before.... only once.

Replace the DSPF Inverter PWB (CPWBF1678FC31). This powers the lamp in the DSPF. My lamp seemed on/off OK as well.

If you have already replaced the CCD unit inside the DSPF, must be this PWB.

        Sweet brother .

From memory, the inverter PWB in the DSPF is exactly the same in the regular scanner unit. If you didnt have another machine to swap parts out of, you could change the 2 inverters and you'll get a different error code.

Swapped the inverter boards and no luck. I then swapped the controller board that is just under the inverter board and then the other machine brought up the error code. Guess what im ordering

CPWBX1688DS51 or CPWBX1688DS53 (new style board)

I have had a couple where the memory pwb (larger pwb in the rear cove of the feeder) gave that code, one had very poor copy qual., and shadings would fail, the other just popped the code without poor copy qual. swapped the pwb and "code be gone". ---->sells for $80 per can.

Well they have not called back and the machin was fine on Monday when i call them soooo fix was the big green board in the back of the DF. DSPF control board. I was really tempted to run that bastard over with the van but with my luck it would fight back one more time and the ROM holder would stab through my tire
