Noise on MX 6200

I have a strange noise, never heard one make a noise from the waste toner unit.
Hard to narrow it down to the door that covers the drum units or the pipe that augers it to the waste toner bottle.
SM shows it come out the side once I remove the LCC, any one have to dig into one of these yet, the noise is a faint whistle or hissing, like a bearing going out.
Tried some light lube on the end of the shafts I could get to with out taking the whole thing out of the machine.
Any ideas...???

Is the machine sitting level on its base-board underneath? I have had a few C-Dragons over the years be pushed off the base-board by some idiot trying to get around the machine, only to eventually cause the waste toner piping & black process unit to block up and squeal like a pig as it was no longer level & leaning back on an angle (rear wheels down off the board). And yes, I had screwed the lock-downs into place!
If it is level, I would say the issue is in the side door somewhere or a squeal in the secondary transfer belt unit. You can remove the secondary belt unit and turn it by hand. If the unit is near or over its 300K life (previously reset etc etc), they sometimes get quite a squeal in them. You will hear it start to squeal when you turn it by hand.
Run sim6 for a while, activating motors and side door rollers to see if the noise starts. Otherwise, run a dev-stir sim 25-1. This turns both belt units as well. If the squeal noise happens during dev stir, I'd bet its one of the belts.
If it more of a clicking noise, its the fuser.

Let me add a bit more to this, I can make the noise when I run just the waste toner motor in the T/C mode, its not loud, but in a office, it drives them crazy, so I got to figure it out, machine not that old either.

The C-Dragon's are a noisy beast to begin with. Why would they want to sit next to it? Should be located in the Print/Utility Room.

You could order the whole Waste Toner unit and fit it. That would be the only thing I would recommend. It's not the easiest job either.
The C-Dragon's I work on everyday are generally noisy and there are alot of small squeaks & whistles in there. Its normal. It is a semi-production color machine.... she ain't no desktop model.
If the machine is sitting level and performing well, but just making small whistles/squeaks, you are going to have no option but replace the waste toner piping/assembly just to prove that it is a noisy machine.... Not much you can do.
Do you have another C-Dragon in the field? Compare it.

I agree it should be in a room by its self, but the cust is always right ya know, so its in a office where at least 3 work, and many more print to it and scan from it.
Also I am ordering the new feed rollers for the docfeeder as per Sharp's TB.
Going to give that a try, they scan a lot and it shows lots of misfeeds in DF.
We got the noise gone for now, it was partly in the auger that goes to the bottle, a bushing there, and the door waste toner system also, there is a metal plate that keeps toner from clumping, may have been there.
And your right, there are lots of noises comming from it, and some peoples hearing is just more sensitve to noises then others.

Brand new out of the box do the same thing. It is the waste auger. When you find the fix i'd be interested. I tell people its normal! lol
