    cfrm-0038rs66 1st del unit

    Hi,

I am xerox, konica, canon tech. I have a ar-275 that needs a new or used 1st del unit. The one in there had a meltdown. Is this normal for this machine or is there a fuser temp problem??? Does some one have a source for a used del unit. Parts manual has it listed as cfrm-oo38rs56. Is the 66 a updated version?? Seen some on line put nobody has any stock. Customer doesn't want to spend that much money anyway. If a tech out there has one in boneyard let me know. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes this is a common problem on the AR-235/275.
And I doubt you will find one in a bone yard, cause most would have been slavaged or are in the shape yours is in.
Its best to replace with new, is less time then to re-build it, I have re-built a couple of them, most times you find more broken plastic, it gets brittle due to heat and breaks real easy.
The unit from AR 237/277 will interchange, but watch the wire harness, get the right unit for the model your working on.

my favorite is when the handle that opens the exit unit disintegrates in your hand from the heat of the fusing unit..

vincent is right. These are all plastic units that warp badly under normal use. Sure its fuser heat that bakes it, but normal fuser heat (unavoidable). One or two years is a normal lifespan, regardless of copies. Rebuilding is very frustrating, because it just busts into little pieces when you try to disassemble it. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

            Back again

Can get a cfrm-0038rs66 for $149 from dc wholesale. Know of any better price??? Main question is the cfrm-0038rs66 will work for the ar-275 with no problems?? Thanks again for all the help.

The delivery unit is actually up to CFRM-0038RS67 for the AR275 machine.

Use that one as the delivery frame plastic has been further modified to withstand heat. Also, there is a firmware update, allowing extra cooling fan operation above the delivery unit. This will further extend the life of the delivery unit.
