    Sharp AR-M700 Noise

I have a customer who has this machine and it is making a clicking noise and sometime s F2-31 code.

I took the drive motor and gear assembly apart and everything looks OK. Could it be the developer drive gear? Like in the old Sharp 2040's?

The developer turns OK it seems. I did forget to check the drive gear because I did not think of it till after I was gone.

If you can help I would appreciate it. I have the service manual but not the parts manual. So if you can help there also with parts # then Thank you.

Most likely, your waste toner system is backed-up. Clean out the process unit and vacuum out the waste toner in the toner cartridge.

Zootech is right. Probably a backup of waste toner. Make sure the firmware is upgraded and the rotation counters reset when you replace the drum & dev next time. This will help with preventing such an extra load on the waste toner pipe/system.

Waste toner capacity within the cartridge was increased form August 2006 production. Make sure you are using new toner carridges. (cant image you using pre-august 2006 toners anyways).

F2-31 can become locked into the PCU memory. Reset it using sim 88-09. Nothing will be lost or reset other than this trouble code.

wazza covered almost everything. The only reason I posted was that wazza didn't mention PCLED or sim 44-02.

"F2-31" error. Loud clicking noise. Toner spewing on back of prints & copies. Waste toner fills backing up the auger, causing toner to coat PCLED. In simulation 44-02 PCLED reads 226. Vacuum out the cleaning unit. Replace the lower cleaning seal, blade, & toner. Brush clean the DMLED & PCLED. Run Procon Gain Adjustment, simulation 44-02. PCLED drops to 40. Reset error in simulation 14.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
