    arm 207 U9-81

hey have been working on this maching and it keeps coming up with the U9-81 error which in communication error, we have replaced the main board when we got the machine in due to a dead display, but since the new main board the display is fine but still the U9 code, any ideas? also i would like to mention that the machine will freeze up after 1 or 2 coppies if it doesnt display the error. im assuming this is related to a bad connection. has currant firmware as well.

Communication error codes on most Sharp machines is usually caused by an incorrect board being installed.
For example, you install a required board from the same series of machines, but it is only specifically designed for one model from that series. You cannot tell the difference just by looking at them.
I heard about one the other day on an MX4500N. Scan PWB was ordered by accident for the MX3500N. tech went out, fitted it, and came up with communication code errors. Correct PWB fixed issue straight away.

Basically... are you completely sure you have fitted a board for the ARM207?

it was the corect board, since then i have noticed that the U9 coode comes up when it freezes, but in the trouble code list its saying l6-10 which is the polygon motor, not sure if its only shoing the U( due to the L6-10

check all of your connections on any boards you have removed/replaced. Remove any additional memory and network box & re-test.

Service manual states to replace the MCU PWB, Panel PWB and/or harness.

If the ADF is connected or removed while power on, or within 6 seconds of power off, it can damage the MCU PWB.
