Delete 'password lost' document on MX-2700N

    Hi All,

We've a Sharp MX-2700N and there are some documents on the HD(internal memory) with a password. The owner lost the password and now we want to delete them. Is this possible? Via web-access the printer? (logged in as Admin).

Your help would be much appriciated!

Actually you can do it from the unit. When you go to print the document from Doc Filing and the password pops up you enter the admin password or default user number (00000 if you haven't changed it) and it will allow you to delete the document.

Note: you can only delete it as the administrator you can not do anything else.

        Good luck.

Is this also posible remotely as I'm at home now and connected through VPN with the printer web interface?

            Thanks for all your support!

I don't see why not. As long as you log-in as the administrator you should be able to access the folders and delete the files in question. I have not done it that way but don't see why it wouldn't work.

              Good luck.

                Problem Solved

                Hello folks,

Through VPN and or the webinterface it wasn't possible.
From the machine it was when logged in as Admin, change system settings, Archive settings and tab yes bij deleting with admin password.
Then leave sys. settings, go to archive documents, select the document and when asked for a passcode the Admin tab is available to type in de Admin pass. Only delete option will be possible.

                Thanks for all your support!
