Scanning to a MAC uses ftp not SMB, so this machine is capable of scanning to the Mac "Home folder"

[QUOTE=wazza;124519]If Michael's document (which is great by the way!), doesn't work for you, get in touch with Tony Maged (tmaged). He's the Sharpdesk King/connectivity God!

    I'm only the SELF-PROCLAIMED connectivity God !!

I may be able to give you some guidance for setting it up to scan to email. This sounds like it would be the best in your situation. These machines will not scan directly to a shared network folder. The only way would be to install it on a PC, then open the Network scanner tool & create a new profile that will dump the scan to the shared folder rather than Sharpdesk. Let me know if either of these are viable options & you need any help.

I have a similar situation and they have a PC with mostly Macs. I setup Sharpdesk on the PC, worked just fine as a shared folder, but set the scan to email function for the Mac's. Spent a lot of time trying to figure out a better way for the Mac's but scan to email worked the best.

Not all that helpful in your situation but maybe you can "tell" them your needs!!!!

    Good luck. Bil

    Scanning issue AR-M355

I know this is confusing but try and follow. New client, installed AR-M355N with scanning. Their IT insists on installing on network. They can scan to FTP but not desk top or email. Getting CE-02 and 03 codes.

It is an off sight server (Unix) and the client PC's are Mac. They won't put Sharpdesk on the server because it is shared.

I'm thinking that the only option is to scan every thing to FTP and then export to where needed. Does anyone have any other ideas?

I really need to try to find a better solution if one is available. Is there Sharpdesk available for Mac so I could install on individual machines? What if I added a windows based PC to the network and ran it only on that one? Would it then work on the Macs also?

    Thanks in advance.
