This soft switch change was released in a bulletin in 2006. It is not only valid for the C-jupiter, but all MX color machines.
When SNMP status is enabled on the print port, it monitors any issues with the printer, with any maintenance code being enough for it to disables the print queue. Alternatively, turn off SNMP port settings and you wont have this issue. However I have seen other problems doing that such as an excessive amount of driver configurations returning to default engine-only settings, eg, no finisher, desk drawers etc etc.
Basically, set that soft switch during all run-ups before machine is in the field and you will have no machines not working when maint is due. Obviously perform the maintenance required ASAP and machine will continue working anyway. -
cheers, always best to ask the experts before i screw a m/c up
i was a bit confused though on a mx-3500, came up for black drum/dev pm at 100k yet according to the service schedule its 150k? i dont like reseting 24-07 or dev counters without just cause. started to look for destination like on the old copiers where it might have been set to japan,NA etc.Comment

First thing check 21-01 what the maintenance is set at. If you are getting any maintenance earlier than specified, you have a low page count/high rotation machine, meaning the drum/dev life is due as the rotation count is reached, not the page count reached. This is seen in 22-01 in the lower section of the numbers, being represented as a percentage of 100... eg black drum life might be 100 (meaning 100% life completed), but the black drum page count in 22-13 might only say approx 100K.
On every maint you perform, always check these counters as well. You could very well walk away from the machine thinking it still has another 50K or so before maint is due, but the rotation counter might be in the 90-95% range, so it will show maint very soon.Comment
