    MX4100N...Consistent L4-32 trouble code...

Just wondering whether anyone else has had this problem... got a machine brand new from sharp and its thrown an L4-32 error which is "Power Source Cooling Fan Trouble". Now according to the service manual the operation signal isnt being detected. Ive already tried the following:

    Replaced Fan
    Replaced PCU PWB

Checked and resat all harness' etc etc
    Updated to the latest firmware

And basically none of this has made any difference... kind of at my wits end now and not sure what to try next? anyone got any bright ideas?

    Thanks Kris.

Have you run the fan sim test in sim 6?

You will be able to see and hear the fan rotating. If the fan works OK in sim (which it should), but you are getting the error in operating mode, you have a signal issue. As most fans are on the same harness, check all fans in sim 6. If one is not working, it could be pulling down your PS fan. There are no bulletins on this code yet, so I'm thinking either fan harness or one particular fan is bad.

      Hi,
there's a tech bullettin about an L4-57 Toner Cooling Fan Trouble (Fan 3).
"Check if the PTC unit (Front Frame) is not deformed. Ensure when the PTC fixing screw is tightened, the PTC unit is not pulled down, causing it to fracture and arch."

...It's not the same your error code, but why not to try changing PTC!

      Good luck!

Doesnt even attempt to turn in sim 6.... however when you turn the machine on it does try to spring into action but stops pretty much immediately... very confusing... gonna try and swap some of the harness' over and see if it makes any difference..

Yer a real strange one, Im only a workshop apprentice atm.. out with an engineer 1 day a week on call outs but occasionally we get the odd workshop repair and theyve had a gd few engineers in for the day to look at the machine and until now noones managed to sort it! So definately glad its done and dusted and earned ourselves a few browny points in the process
