    setting NIC link speed on ARM-355n

    Does anyone know if there is a provision to slow the link speed on a ARM-355n nic. We have a client that is having signifigant packet loss when connected to their network. When connected directly to the machine via crossover cable there is no appreciable packet loss.
    Any thoughts are appreciated thanks!!

    To fix the network speed, the MFP firmware must be v1a.15 or higher. Enter sim 55-03 and change sw9 as follows:

    bit 5-6 (10MBPS/100MBPS setting)
    00 = automatic detection - default
    01 = 10MBPS
    10 = 100MBPS

    bit 7-8 (half duplex/full duplex setting)
    00 = automatic detection - default
    01 = half duplex
    10 = full duplex

    Large amounts of packet loss could also be a faulty network cable. I have seen many cases of network cables across walkways which have been stood on/walked over etc etc with roller chairs running over it too have this problem. A continuous ping test will tell if there is a network cable issue as the reply will come and go

      By the way.....the s/sw changes are slightly different on the MX color machines and the new Jupiter 3's.
      Dont use these settings above on those machines.
