    Sharp Arm 276 error L1-00

hi i recently brought a sharp ar-m276 in denmark and transported here to london to give it to a local charity - this photocopier was working like a dream.

upon recieving it i plugged it in and after powering up it says on the LED display

    CALL FOR SERVICE.
    CODE:
    L1-00

I am trying to figure out what this error could be.

    any thoughts please advice

It sounds like something is preventing the scanner from moving freely.rough handling during
transportation could cause the scanner cable (s) to come adrift

This Parts & Service manual can now be purchased for $11.77 and downloaded immediately after payment from The Internet's largest collection of manuals

L1-00 (along with F5-02, E7-11 & L3-00) could also be caused by a Short Circuit between the CCD harness and the optical connector PWB. Check the position of the CCD harness is not rubbing against the optical connector PWB. Replace it if damaged in any way. (its a long shot I know, but worth mentioning). There are bulletins on this problem.

Otherwise, I completely agree with Bonnie. A transported machine that was not locked down properly, could very well have damage to the scanner rails or cables.

Sorry, I don't recognize the model #. Is this a Leopard, from Europe maybe? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Looks like the AR-M276 was an AR-M277 without a document feeder, a leopard of a different color ...

Exactly the same animal actually. Yeah the ADF isn't fitted by default, but every single one gets sold with the RP7. Identical machine, same idea Sharp has with the Jupiter naming eg, ARM451 here, ARM455 overseas... same machine.

I've never seen L1-00 on a Leopard, but have seen a few L3-00 accompanied by F5-02. It was caused by the machine being dropped, and the scanner drive belt came off.

As you can imagine, the scanner belt was the least of it's problems. We didn't fix that machine. =^..^=

Its an andromeda series. I like this machine when it comes to copying and printing. Long life span of consumables.

Anyway L1-00 means scanner feed trouble or scanner lock, they are correct you should check the scanner cables, ccd harness and lastly the main board.

If you cant still solve the problem just call a sharp technician.

                      Good luck!
