    How to change drum AR-M350U

I have been an IT guru for 15-20 years....lots of hardware, networking, etc. Limited work on printers. I have a AR-M350U (Sharp), that I need to change a drum on. I have the assembly out. Is there a trick to changing the drum itself? Thanks!

This Parts & Service manual can now be purchased for $11.77 and downloaded immediately after payment from The Internet's largest collection of manuals

I agree. If you are just getting into changing consumables and hardware, get yourself the service manual, as there is alot more to just changing a drum over, such as maint kits, sim changes & resets.

No trick. On the front you will find 3 screws. Remove these and then remove the black plastic front. This will disengage the drum. Reverse to put back together.

        Good luck.

you can work for many year with any hardware but for that photocopy just some day, so you don't understand anything about this photocopy machine, if you want change the drum on should call tech do this for you or buy service manual and par-part and learn yourself how to do that with some risks

I have to agree about getting a service manual. While replacement of just the drum is a mater of a couple screws, there are other standard maintenance parts/processes done at the same time like changing the cleaning blade, cleaning out waste toner and other things that may not be all that obvious - even to a self-professed guru.

if you get a sharp ar451dr drum make sure you do SIM44-1 like it says on the box in addition to resetting the counters to avoid problems. you also need to go into SIM21 and change the cycle to 100K. Just an FYI thats not in ther service manual.

I forget that this isn't a self-help forum sometimes!!! LOL I "ASSUME" that the questions are by techs that are not familiar with Sharps and are just looking for a little help but if they are not techs then they can do some serious damage to their machines (at their own risk of course) by following our advise and not knowing what they are really doing!!!!! I figure there should be some kind of disclaimer somewhere in this forum that you use the information provided at your own risk/responsibility. Possibly a little helpful reminder sometimes as we work on all types of copiers, laser printers and faxes.
