    AR BC260 Image quality

I have a Sharp AR BC 260 with 2 image quality issues
    1) Gray faint lines every 3-1/4 inches apart (drum is my guess)
    and
    2) Image drop out which can best be described as part of the image looks like an old generational copy but some of the document is very clear (not perfect but clear)

They have been using this copier as a black and white unit only for a couple of years.

    Well any ideas?

What kid of maintance has been done, transfer belt, drums, also the gears that drive the toner cart in there, if they are cracked, could all be at fault.

Search "Sharp gears". There are at least 6 post that cover this topic quite thoroughly.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Yeah thats right........drum drive gears crack. Replace & add the washer too. That should cure it.
