    [Dead] MX6201 panel lock up

    I have a MX6201 that will lock up. The customer will walk up a try to do a copy job but when they press the screen it beeps at them that all it will steal print jobs but thats all. They have to shut off and on to get to work for a few days. Any ideas?

      Any MX machine that locks up when touching the operation panel usually either has a faulty SCN board or faulty system memory.

      I've had this symptom many times, on virtually every MX machine/series. If it wasn't one of the above causing the issue, it was the other.

      The SCN board directly connects to the operation panel. The system memory controls bootup & normal machine use.
      However, it could be faulty copy memory on the MFP, it would be rare, but I have seen it. That memory module usually gives an E7-06 code when performing copies or scans rather than lockup, but its worth mentioning.

      Make sure the firmware is up-to-date as well. There are numerous mentions of machine lockup fixes in the revision list.
