Thanks for your help, Tony.
You may be right on that last sentence. It appears that the customer had DSL before with NO email problems; now, with RoadRunner, it's another matter.
Why would it work with one and not the other? Hmmm!Leave a comment:

Bill, sorry I misspoke in my first reply. Changing the hostname of the SMTP sever to the IP address will remove the DNS server from the equation. I looked at firmware and didn't see any fixes for that issue. I'd try changing it to a different a different account on a different sever if the ISP will relay the mail, if the first suggestion doesn't help.Leave a comment:

Thanks for your reply, tmaged.
The gateway is the local router.
the DNS is the RoadRunner DNS by IP.
As for Domain, I tried the local workgroup and also the RoadRunner email domain.
I tried to increase the time-out to 90 but it won't allow more than 60.
I wonder is there are system software issues with this model.Leave a comment:

Bill, if you're using the hostname of the DNS server, switch it to the IP address to eliminate DNS resolution. I believe you can also increase the timeout so it doesn't error so fast if there is an issue with latency. You can try running a continuous ping to the mail server to check latency issues.Leave a comment:
