[Misc] MXFNX10 finisher attached to MX5000 saddle stitch staples alternately

I have an issue with MXFNX10 saddle stitch stapling. The pamplet jobs staples ok but does it alternately. It staples one set, miss out the next, staple the next set etc.
Firmware updated, staple cartrige changed but no joy. I believe brainy gentlemen must be out there to know why.

Firstly, what is the serial number of the finisher?

Secondly, are you running firmware version 01.05.02 on the finisher?

The firmware is updated 1.05.02, also to take care of FPDD_S JAMS as you mentioned to me before. Infact I cannot recall the serial number but its been delivered brand new about a year and a half now. It functioned well untill about 3 weeks ago when it developed the fault. Hope this will help.

The serial number is important, because it will tell me if certain mods have been included during production.

Does the paper that is not stapled (but supposed to), have the staple marks in them... the small holes where the staple has tried to go through..... or does it not fire the staple unit at all?

Just sending through some bulletins. You will notice that alot of the mods were done after your production run. See what you think and make the appropriate mods. Just letting you know, that some of these are BIG jobs!

                Hi Wazza,

Am looking forward for the bulletins.

Just to let you know a new MX-FNX10 was brought in, Serial no. 8L002608 but also now jamming saddle stitch jobs. It worked initially for about 5 days though. The message on screen is as follows. ''Check saddle stapler position or staple jam. When paper is placed on the offset tray remove it.'' When all jams are removed it will saddle staple about 2 or 3 sets and come up with the same message.

I doubt if the print driver is playing a role in this erratic performance of the saddle. At times the staples are bent in a wrong way throung the paper as well.

I sent you the bulletins 4 days ago. Check your email again mate.

In regards to this latest issue, the saddle staple unit is not lined up correctly with the staple folding plates. I have had this a few times now. Random staple jams or staples not folding over correctly. Run all the adjustments included in the mods/bulletins I sent you, or worst case scenario is to manually loosen & reposition the staple folding plates. I have done this to a few machines and they have been great for months now.
