    [Error Code] ARM550 Finisher F1-02

    Hey guys,

I got a ARM550 with the ARF15 throwing F1-02 into the log. The screen just says finisher out of service.

I saw a bulletin about a new bracket for the "saftey" micro switch but that does not seem to be the problem. As soon as the finisher hits the bracket to open up the switch the finisher shuts down. If you hold the switch down the finisher will start up just fine. I took the switch and finisher PWB to another machine and could not replicate the problem on the other machine. Currently i have the switch taped up hanging by the wires and the finisher is working.

Has any body run into this before? Currently it seems to be working just fine so im inclined to leave it just the way it is but after being the 2nd guy to look at it for 5 hours im curious what the actual fix is.

Maybe your finisher interlock is going intermittent in the middle of the lever's travel. Remove the switch, put your ohmmeter on it and slowly move the actuator through it's motion. I think you'll find that there's a portion of the travel where you're reading 50 - 100 ohms.
Anything more than 0.1 ohms is too much when closed. Let me know what you find. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The problem is not the actual switch, its the switch slider & positioning pins. The new part number is what is holding the switch in the correct position to prevent this code. If your finisher was manufactured before November 2006, replace the switch slider with 0CW4123R510B/.
