After replacing the harness (thank you Sharp Fixer for the helpful tips) I'm getting a F1-08 code. I noticed that the right staple cartridge hold down had broken off and of course you cannot order just that part. A new stapler is $422 (ouch!!!), anyone know who might do repairs on this unit?

The whole stapler unit (0CW4141P520C/); I found Hytec Dealer Services will either repair and return, send a exchange with core return, or send a new one. The repair and return is about $200, the exchange is $271, and the new one is same price as Sharp."You can't trust your eyes, if your mind is out of focus" --Comment

Yeah... bad luck there mate. Have had plenty of staple cartridges go bad, for a quick swapover, but when the staple unit goes, we fit a new finisher complete. But.... that has only happened a handful of times, and only on clients machines that have done near 1million staple jobs.Comment

Update: the stapler unit works in a new FNX1 even with the broken hold down arm. The problem turned out to be the interface connection to the MFP; when the finisher connector was pushed in the other end compressed and did not fully seat. Holding the MFP connector with a spring hook, I was able to get a good connection. So we won't have to buy a stapler unit, I just have to fix the F1-19 code now (one thing after another)."You can't trust your eyes, if your mind is out of focus" --Comment

Aaahhh..... F1-19 & F1-20..... my favourite code on the FNX1's. (if you can have a 'favourite' trouble code....). Each time I see these codes, this has been this fix.....
Check this old post out. The answers are within..... http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/sh...1-20-code.html
PS... well done with the stapler fix!! Nice!!Comment

Nice one Zootech!
Keep that sensor & spring issue in your memory bank, because it is common these days, especially as the FNX1's are getting older. I see either a F1-19 or F1-20 every few months.Comment
