I have had U2-91 (PCU pwb EEPROM check sum error) twice on MX5000N. I do reset the code with sim16 and it works for about 4-5 weeks and then comes back again. The customer just logged yet another call for the same error code U2-91. I will be cleaning/reseating the EPPROM this time around but just wondering if there is a known fix. Thanks.

Has this machine's PCU board ever been changed? Are all the counters correct?
If there was a corrupt EEPROM, you'd get U2-30 (constant).
If its the original board, first thing I would try is a new PCU board, using the original EEPROM. If it comes back after that, you'll need a new EEPROM.

I reseated all PJs on PCU board being original. Cleaned the contacts of EEPROM reset code and updated firmware. Well, its back to action again but I don't know for how long. Will monitor and let you know.Comment
