    ARM - 450 developer box

I have a machine that has around 750k and I do know that model is old which is rented to a customer who does about 5k to 10 k / month. About 2 week's the shaft of the magnetic roller broke in 2 piece's and i did put another dev unit till the new one will come. Last night i did set up the new unit with new developer in it, reseat the dev counter and run 25-2. Today afther about 1000 print's customer call's me to tell that the machine give error L4-02. The unit wich was one day old wasn't turning so i did put the one that i had it there for that about 2 week's. Since im waiting for the regional dealer to tel me if i have to send it to them or i should open it to see what happend I thought to ask u if u had seen something like that?

    L4-02 means Drum motor lock.
In many cases the waste toner spiral is blocked and the gears are broken.
    And make a Firmware update.

      Thank you for your reply.
It was a chain of event's but the problem was in dev unit.
A jam occured and when the lady pulled the paper out he did engaged some built toner which was on the fuser entry and wich did drop on the dev roller and block it. This is my guess till i will go there again later this day/night to confirm my theory and clean that fuser.
I don't know hoe to upgrade firmware at this model becouse i didn't have to work with this model's till recently and i just have 2 of ARM 450 and the company and the tech's that import this here never insisted on firmware and if i ask them about it they ask me back why do i want to do an firmware upgrade. I know the rep tech like wazza and blackkat insist on firmware upgrade but without the file, tool's and support i won't start to do it.
But i did upgrade the firmware on my MX-2600 which btw was an easy job, i presume i did it ok just uploaded the file to machine by FTP - if i remember right.
Anyway the problem with the developer unit is solved so we can discuss other thing's like Christmas, beer and stuff..

I don't want to discourage you vlad, but I do not think that a developing unit is going to be able to cause a drum motor error. Most likely the L4-02 will be back to visit you again soon. More common causes of the L4-02 is the main drive assembly, or the drum motor, in that order. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

In the moment that i tried to rotate it with a screwdriver i couldn't but afther i did open it and removed developer and that ''rock's'' of toner it started spining again. Anyway i hope it will last for next few 4-5 mont's then he will be out of service if all goes well.

I tend to a gree with Bani about the spiral gears broken or the auger shaft being blocked.

                      I
I agree with blackcat 4866, i have same ar-m450 and , in my case, the code L4-02, was
in the main drive assembly, or in the drum unit.

                      Good look

                          Hello Vad,

I have seen this condition with Densi aftermarket toner. Balls or "rocks" of toner would intermittently lodge between the ends of the developer roller and the "C" collars. On the AR-M355/455 series machines I found that there was no partition dividing the waste toner collection area and the main toner supply causing the issue. Perhaps, they have corrected this now? We have stopped using aftermarket toner for the most part. I have not had this problem occur using Katun supplies for this series.

I hope my two cents help a little.
I thought I was getting wiser as time went on... I now realize I am just getting older.
