Need Answer to Specific Type of Cross Cable for Flash ROM

The Service Manual says to use a RS232C Cross cable D sub 9 pin to D sub 9 pin or D sub 25 pin to D sub 9 pin to do a Flash ROM. I don't have one and need to get one asap but I need to know if these are Male or Female or a combination of both. The book doesn't say and i have looked online and some are Female to Female, some Male to Female etc. HELP anyone! Thank you. danieldgallegos@juno.com Daniel

ok. We have one that has a 9 pin F and 25db F to the same on the other end, so we should be ok. We have never Flashed one yet so we wanted to make sure . Thanks! Daniel

You may need to get a USB to Serial adapter unless you've got an old PC to use.
        Hope that helps !

We have both, however, when you bring the Maintenance Software up using the USB to Serial Adaptor it doesn't recognize that the copier is connected to the computer and will not open up the tree of available updates. So we used the older Computer and it worked. Thanks! Daniel
