I've been out of the industry for a while. I have a "Maintenance Required" message on a MXM550n I just can not get rid of.
I reset 24-4, 24-5, 24-7. What have I missed?
There is asensor in the Fuser Web Assembly that tells you Maintenance Required when the fuser web has reached its end. When you replace the web make sure you have the actuator under the web or you will still get the message.
Yep, the guys are right. You need to replace the web. This over-rides the clear counter, so if it has been cleared, it will still show maintenance. Make sure the web is installed correctly, or the sensor will still show maintenance.
You need the MX705KC fuser maintenance kit (or a new fuser unit).
That machine also has a count down counter for the web, so once you do replace it don't just put zero in the web count or you'll still have the same maint message. If memory serves should be rated for 300k, which is the same as the rest of the consumables in the fuser. (HR, PR, etc)
That was the counter I was looking for. Is it under sim24?
You cant clear this maint code from sim, once you replace the web cleaner rollers in the fuser unit, and get the web over that sensor arm, it will go away.
The kit you need for a machine in USA is MX-705 RC.
Be sure you change the cleaner rollers in the fuser unit, the rollers that clean the lower fuser roller, they get built up with toner, and can lock the lower roller.
They are in the kit also.
