Mx2300 service mode & mk life

    Hi,
I'm a Kyocera tech that has done little with Oooooooollllldddd sharps........I mean really old..... as in the AR or SF series. That was 2 to 3 yrs ago and I dont remember how to get onto the service mode..... not even know if it is still the same.

Im going to a client with an MX-2300 machine, and I need to know how to get into the service mode (Update: Found one of my old AR Manuals, is the Service Mode still "PICI" (Program-Interrupt-Clear-Interrupt) ? ), and also what is the life of a PM or a Maintenance Kit

    Anyone can help?

PS: Got a list of the sims and their descriptions?

#, *, C, * for the SM. PM varies depending. Color drums and DV is 60K, Blk drum, DV and primary transfer belt 100K, fuser 200K (doesn't normally last that long), secondary transfer belt 300K. Good luck with this and don't forget to do the color calibration if you change anything.

      Thanks,
WOW that machine is a Mess, the Waste Toner Container (or however sharp calls it) looks like its missing a part (what ever drives the screw inside that moves the toner down), THen I noticed the Transfer Belt area seems stuck (I tried rotating the gears manually, they are stuck, and when the machine is turned on, a really loud grinding noise is heard) (the client contracted another company to do a PM (and if I remember right the PM that they did involves Transfer belt parts) and there is a Line that seems like is Black Drum, I think Yellow and Black are damaged.

This place was supposed to order a new machine from us as soon as the device started breaking, we've serviced them for about 1 or 2 yrs so far an they wont buy a new machine, I dont think it's worth it, specially, cus we are not trained on this device.

Sounds like it. It's really tough when they go and get another company to work on a machine and then expect you to fix it afterwards. Good luck with this one.

If the plastic thingy on the end of the waste toner that rotates the screw on the inside is gone it will backup the waste toner in the transfer belt. Then every thing gets super hard to turn. The black drum motor turns the transfer belt as well. My machine was giving H5-01 codes since the belt was not turning fast enough to get the paper to the fuser.

The only good thing is that machine is super easy to PM if your willing to pay a little extra and put in new units vs M-kits. You could order a entire transfer belt, 4 new drum units, clean out the DV and put in new DV, calibrate and it would be ready to rock n roll. Just depends if the customer wants to spend the $$$$$

Those were a pretty good box.

Since we are not a Sharp dealer, and the client is a Public Library that "found" someone else to do the PM cheaper, I doubt they will go for it. But thanks for the advice, I will let my boss know. My vote (if it counted) would be to drop them if they dont get one of our machines, but then again, I'm just the Pee On tech LOL
