    [Error Code] ar-m505 error U2 sub code 40 will not reset

    ar-m505 error U2 sub code 40 reads as a CRUM chip communication error will not reset with simulation 16 can anyone help me out

    Replace the toner. You have something wrong with the toner that you put in the machine.

      The connector on the toner hopper that receives the toner bottle may be slightly off perpendicular causing a bad read.

        Is it safe to assume that you have an AR-M550N or AR-M550U? I don't think that there is an ar-m505. And it's probably not an AR-505. Most of the Cougars are long dead. =^..^=
        If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Yes, most are thank goodness, but we still have customers that will not upgrade until it is absolutely necessary.
