    Sharp ARM150

When starting up in the morning this machine gives
an rattling noise, if gears are not working
properly. However no paper jam or misfeed errors.
During the day it gets better, no sound after 3 or 4
hours. Replaced the heater gear, reduced pressure on
lower heaterroller, still customers complains about
    noise in the morning.

    Any ideas here . . .
    Thanks in advance

The source of the noise might be on the right cover. Trick the cover and make a copy. It might jam but without a noise. The transfer unit area is always the culprit; check to ensure nothing is bent or a roller rubbing on a sleeve, reform and lubricate if necessary.

after runing for a while the noise goes away, needs lube

          Re: Sharp ARM150

im having a simmilar problem on this. its making grinding noises. when i trick the right hand side door i can feel it coming from the fuser unit. when i reinstall the fuser unit the noise goes away. but then after a few days the noise comes back in. but the fuser unit runs freely by hand.

have you managed to sort this problem out yet?? and what isit?

You may want to take a very close look at the gear tha drives the fuser . Not the heat roller gear but the one that is part of the drive unit. The other thing on the smaller sharps is the bushings for the heat roller. I would try both of those. The gear will look good but be a problem for noises.

              It's not 100% successful but here's what I do:

Insert a 1mm or less washer between the rear fuser frame and the main body. The cause of the noise is poor gear alignment between the fuser ring gear and the main drive gear, but everything's plastic and wobbles all over the place, regardless of what you do.

One thing to watch for is that this works fine on machines that only do single sided like the 150, but ones that duplex will jam on second side with that shim installed. These are frustrating little machines. Poorly made, and the plastic starts crumbling from the fuser heat immediately when you plug them in. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                Re: Sharp ARM150

the gears on the main drive did look a bit wobbley and a bit worn. i normally work on ricohs and iv neva seen that problem on a ricoh before. guess diferent makes have their own problems.

i would have to look into bit more and maybe order parts for the main drive unit and order some heatroller bearings and see.
