    MX2700 cyan problem

    hi,
i have a MX2700N wich is printing with blue underground on top. i have changed the drum , developer, transfer belt, i've checked the laser and the laser shutter and still no changes.
i uploaded the new firmware and checked the grid and bias output in sim 8-1,8-2 and made the calibration but the blue shaddow still wont dissapear.

has anyone got this problem. i think there is something wrong with the HV or discharge of the drum.

None of the colors look that great. Have you tried a new PTC wire or unit? Blue shadow could be dev unit or cleaning unit on the tranfer belt.

      Have you cleaned/checked the optics?
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

Check the condition of the grids- they fur up badly and can cause all sorts of quality issues. Try swapping the complete charger with one of the other colours to see what happens.

Swap the magenta and cyan drum unit and see if the problem follows. I would guess drum or DV as the cyan at the top of the paper is very clear and clean.

              hello,
              thanks for the replies.

we already changed the drum, the developer only, the whole developer unit, the transfer belt unit , almost everything and still have the cyan shadow on top.
i also changed the hvt pwb and done the sim 8-1,8-2 and the values are ok.

                    Re: MX2700 cyan problem

I had the same problem with yellow.
Remove the cyan developer unit, you will see two red screws on the backside, inside the machine. I experiment in every direction on this 2 screws to adjust the bushing and anytime it was OK. Machines runs now 2 months without this problem.
This was my solution, I changed also all parts and nothing helps.
                    Good luck

I had a similar problem with a 4110. It was making a black ghost image of a cyan image. The weird thing was it produced the black ghost image ahead of where the cyan image was. It ended up being the laser. Replacing the laser fixed the problem.
