    Hi igi.

    You were spot on, put 128MB RAM and the scanner kit is now there under product key. The only issue is now it will not accept the key I have and this is the first time I have ever used it.

    Not sure how to go about getting another key.

    Hi igi.

    Just removed the back panel, theres no memory in the slot which is shown on the diagram you sent. Will have to find out the make of the RAM and order some.

    Thanks a lot for your help, was totally stumped with this one!

    hi yes i know trial is free and no memory neded
    proper activation memory neded,go figure

    Hi Igi, I didnt realise it needed 128 because the scanner trial period worked fine, I assumed that it should just work!

    I have checked the memory using a browser to connect and it states "memory and storage installed" = 64MB RAM. Not sure if memory is the problem unless I need more!?!

    IF you have the Scanner Product key for that machine...

    Enter Key Operator mode on the MFP Operation Panel and input the Activation key in Product Key – NSX or Scanner Expansion Kit, then Power cycle the Copier...... activation is now complete.

    Sharp UK will only provide Technical Support to Authorized Dealers and Sharp Qualified Engineers, your 'Third Party Support' is obviously neither....

    You will then need to configure the Scanning options...ensure that you are using a 'static IP address for the machine and the SC2 port if you an not using USB.

    I do hope you have a Maintenance contract with someone.....

    u need to purchase from sharp mx-nsx1 scanner kit, of coz u need to give the copier serial no. to get the product key

    Hi all, hope someone can help. I have the above scanner and the demo scanning was activated. Now we have used up all the scanning. I am receiving the message "Scanner kit not installed". When connecting using a browser and going into Network scanning - then setup I receive a red error "ERROR[936]: Scanning feature is not enabled"

    I have called out our third party support and the guy hasnt got a clue. Tried ringing Sharp and they are useless as far as support is concerned!

    I have read that I should re-enter the machine serial before I can enter the scanner product key which I received but have not yet used!

    Is there a way to re-enable the scanning? What do I need to do?

    I would imagine all modern Sharp scanners to work using the same setup??
