An authorised dealer needs to contact sharp directly to get a reset code for that model.

There IS a way I default the admin pw back to its original state. I acquired a jump drive with a clone file which ONLY resets the admin pw. So I get the ip address from status then crossover cable to machine. Then I go to the service html and log in. I then clone machine with this file and....VIOLA...done. this is done to every modern series.

Which option do you select in the clone list to do just the admin password? I can't find anything that would clone only the admin password without blasting away other settings on the machine

The new machines can not have admin password reset, but if you can browse into it it there is a clone file you can import and that will reset password to default.

Huh? I do it once or twice a week. I have a BIN file that is done under clone in the service page that resets it to default and nothing else. What do you mean the new machines cant have an admin rest?

Where did you get the .bin file from, is it a special file? or a regular clone of a machine?
Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

Which option do you choose? There is no option for Admin Password. These same options are available on the standard embedded webpage, and on the display panel of the machine. No need to use the Service webpage

We've used something similar here to reset admin passwords.

On the donor machine: System Control > Storage Backup > "User Register Information"

Then login through service menu and import. This works on all machines I've tested, older machines also.

User Register Information? What else does that override, other than the Admin Password?

The password is changed in the security settings of the copier.

Couldn't you clone the security settings of a copier with the default passwords and then clone it to the machine that needs the passwords changed?

This can be done through the service page.
