There is a new style process electrode cover to solve f2-40 trouble (prevent high voltage leak), worth a try.

    part # is: PFTAP0149FCZ2

This ERROR F2-40 is common to this copier try to check the level for black DV unit, try to check toner path and see if toner drops inside your Black DV unit.

Hope you can see the results.

          Re: mx 2300n f2-40

I've encountered in MX-3500 the same error code, first I thought it was from toner cartridge due to dried toner inside and it is hard to rotate, but when I replace the black toner the same error appear. I try to check the toner pipe from toner going to DV unit, and I see that the toner was dried in the pipe. There is no toner dropping to the DV unit I only remove and clean and the error code was gone...

          Hope this can help.

UPDATE: today i went back to change the black cartridge with no effect.
after vacuuming out the black toner pipe i got another error code f2-42 (magenta)
switched the machine off and on i get f2-43 (yellow)
error code keeps on changing and its now currently on f2-42.

customer has done 188 000 b/w and 1500 colour. machine is mainly used as a b/w

There is a bulletin on this (a couple of them). This is a problem in high humidity areas. There has been a change to the charge plate and grid for this error(s).

Do a full PM, drum, dv, mk. Go into the sscodes and make sure our toner densities are within spec after the PM.

There are also updated toner tubes with clickers on them to keep them from clogging. I would think about getting those changed.

It's better to dis-engage all the pipes and clean before anything else. Check also the gears in the toner if it is rotating properly.

                    Hello all,

I just bough two brand new Sharp MX 565N copiers and on both of them I have F2-40 error. I have tried with replacing toners but that did not help. Does anyone know how to enter simulation mode on this model and/or how to rectify issue?

                    Thanks in advance

If the toner cartridges were installed during shipping, the DV has overtoned. To enter diags, double tap the home key, press the version level at bottom right - then the regular # * C *.
Disable toner sense in TC 7, run quite a few skyshots and then check TC 25-1 to see if the toner concentration is OK. This might work for you short of replacing developer.

                        Thanks a lot

The problem is that I am offshore in Mexico and local dealer don't speak English and I don't speak Spanish but thanks anyway.

I work alot with Mexico, and while not without some problems, "Google Translate" has been very helpful.
