    AR-M700u fusing life issue

Has anyone ever used the 704kc I have a 700 that is contaminating the cleaning rollers in about two weeks to the extent it causes the fusing unit to stop turning

What version of the fuser do you have? There was many differnt mods. If the motor is getting locked im guessing you have the one with the oil roller that turns against the upper roller. I had that fuser and mine sheared the shaft that holds the gear to reverse the roller right off. The current mod turns with the roller. If the roller is reversing just remove the little gears and it will turn with the roller.

Also why are you rebuilding that fuser? You can replace it cheaper then you can rebuild it. AR703FU1 for 120V models. By the time you add the upper, lower, sub heater, and cleaning kit, bearings it's already more than the new fuser and then you need to add your labor. Not worth it.

Sorry I am in the Uk so have the 200v version fusing unit also it is the 703 version fuser with the two metal rollers that sit against the lower heat roller and the cloth type roller sitting against the upper heat roller. I fitted them last week and they brought up L4-03 already at the moment its running with no cleaning rollers. Im not sure if there is a charge issue or something to cause so much contamination but Im not getting f2 codes and the dev values are good

You would need the AR703FU for the 200v version. (remove the one)

Is the machine up to date on firmware? There was a level of firmware where they backed off the toner density to help deal with fuser cleaning issues before the oil roller was put in.

Does your oil roller (the white cloth one) turn with the upper roller or against it?

I will have to check the firmware as i honestly cant remember it has no network card. I think I know the firmware your talking about its the one or the waste toner over flowing and blocking the auger?

Yup. Hit it with the the latest firmware and put in the newest style fuser.
