    ar 550

Customer has emailed a scan of this problem and i haven't been to see it yet but it sounds/looks like a strange one.

single sided copies are fine but when duplexing both sides are overtoned to the extent that the toner seems
to bleed through the paper. The machine had 250k on after refurb. I'm thinking transfer problem but open to ideas
before I drive to customer which is a long way out.
    any input will be useful

Just to clarify: Is this a AR-M550N, AR-M550U, or FO-DC550.
There's a small difference of 50cpm and 450#. Our dispatchers never seemed to think it made any difference. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Actually a common problem with these. When doing 2-2 sided the image will bleed through but not when doing 1-2 sided or single sided. That's why the newer models have the top and bottom scanners offset. Check your 46-2 auto settings and make sure they are set to 50 or less. If they are above 50 that can cause it. You can do a white reference calibration and make sure your ROM version is current also. I have seen it also caused by the scan cnt pwb but that was only 1 case.

        Good luck.
