MX-2610 Trouble Codes U2-40,U2-41,U2-42 effecting on Equitrac systems.

Hi all, we have recently been putting out Sharp MX-2610 to Schools & academies (150 in total) All machines are on Equitrac and have been working ok.

We are now experiencing Trouble codes of U2-40,41 & 42. on certain machines, all firmware is up to date on the sharps and the equitac is running ok.

We have noticed that this only happens on Sharp machine that run Equitrac.(But not all of them) We have other MX-2610's that dont run equitrac and there are no issues with these.

We have also re-formatted the HDD just as a percaution. Made sure that the SD card is ok.but still comes up with codes.

Sharp Uk are not aware of this problem and have no answers at present.

We have contacted Equitrac and no one has heard of this problem.

The only solution we have so far is to turn Off/On machine and the codes disappears for a few days but then comes back.

Any help or advise on this would be much appreciated.

I would try backing up the SD cards, format them, then push the settings back in after the format. There are known issues with SD cards of 4GB or larger and these use 4GB according to the manual. The manual also does not specify if it is SD, SDHC or SDXC. These models appear on the Equitrac site as supported. The Sharps listed require the external account module option as well.

Forgot to mention that we have Backed up the SD Card and pushed settings to another Sd card.

They all have the "External Counting Module" fitted already.

      Thanks for you reply

the one with problem remove the Equitrac and use as normal

I know on Ricohs, the PCC must be installed on the SD card and not the HDD.

Pretty sure I saw a firmware update for this issue about a week ago. Check IDNC.

Hi Peeps I have had a similar problem with a mx5112 on an equitrac system with a biometric finger scanner showing a CE-02 error, scanner problem. It appears 3+ times a day, mainly 1st thing in the morning, turn off/on temp. cures fault. We went to the trouble of swopping machine to prove either machine or equitrac, new mcn threw up error same day! Customer also has mx3110's on site with no problems. I'm thinking strange signal or interference on network? I have heard ver7 firmware is an issue but don't what the issues are,my machine is on ver8
any one with any ideas would be much appreciated

CE-02 is a network connection issue. If your IP address is blocked by firewall, swapping machines won't do a thing for you. Is it connected wired or wireless (through an AP)?

A few posts above you, someone posted their solution; though it was for the U2 error codes.

                      "*********Update

Double check the entire thread for some possible solutions, maybe try starting your own next time instead of piggybacking off another thread just because it has "equitrac" in the name. Sometimes people skip 2 year old threads that get needlessly bumped to avoid reading a bunch of info they may have already read.
