Re: MX-2600N Printing on glossy help
I have always had issues with glossy paper. Even though the spec sheet shows that it will do it I've found that you have to try different brands or pre-printed types to see what works best for you and even the best results we get are not always that great. Glossy paper is the same as heavy paper 2 depending on what you have and I have the best results when feeding it in the landscape or letter-r direction.
Good luck with this and I would like to know what type and weight you finally get the best results from.

Re: MX-2600N Printing on glossy help
It would make sense for the drivers to be that way but then that's what the heavy paper settings are for I guess! The duplex unit on these machines are not designed to duplex the heavier grade paper. They will do it for awhile but then you will start to have all kinds of issues. Sounds like you've pretty much tried everything to get the best prints you can except for possibly different paper? You didn't mention this but I have also had issues with the print flaking off on some glossy brands.Comment

Re: MX-2600N Printing on glossy help
I am curious if the PCL5 would have glossy as a setting. I know for a fact that the new 2610/3610 is the same way, setting is present on the machine, but not in the driver. We ended up losing a deal because of it. On Sharps, you can also adjust the fuser temp for the different paper types. I have always found that glossy or heavy looks better if run at lower temps.
Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!Comment
