[Misc] Sharp FO-DC635 Fax out issue

Heres a weird one. If speaker is hit first no issue. Some numbers either rapid or manually entered it will print out transaction report saying busy. some numbers rapid or maually entered go through fine. I changed every softswitch I could with no changes. One thing I noticed I could not get the line monitor to work to see what signals I was getting when entering numbers first. Any suggestions?

Try a memory clear to reset everything back to defaults. There might be a memory issue if manual dialing (on hook dial) is ok but not a memory send.

I agree have seen tis with the AR168 and AR208. They would not fax from memory. You may need to use the special test command 88-03 fax memory clear. This will also wipe out all fax settings including rapid and speed dial numbers. Print that info out first.

Is this going through a PBx?: i.e. 9 1 888 555 1212

Try adding a pause or two after the 9: i.e. 9--1 888 555 1212
The pause is usually represented by "-" or "P" in the display.

It gives you an extra two seconds per pause to allow the line to connect before continuing to dial the rest of the digits.
What can happen is, while the line is connecting the fax is still dialling as fast as it can, and by the time the outbound line is connected the "1 88" is lost so the resulting outbound phone number is 8 555 1212 (an incomplete number which must fail).

The reason your manual dial works is that you cannot dial as fast as the machine can.

This works on any brand facsimile. =^..^=
