Re: sharp ar-m237 with white lines

I have a solution for you to try. This problem has persisted on this series forever from the AR235 up to the new MXM310's

Make sure the clear milar under the drum unit is not bent in anyway. Quite often I have had techs accidently bend this changing feed rollers in the top cassette or by cleaning out the interior and bending this milar.

Often what happens is this milar will rub the toner right off the drum as the paper passes over the drum unit.

This is fairly easy to test though. Make a copy skyshots are easiest and stop the copy mid process. See if all the image is on the back of the drum and seems to be wiping off on the front of the drum where the paper passes over it. This can help clue you in on a DV unit problem (back end) or a milar/drum/corona problem (front end)

If you have already ruled out DV unit Ill bet its the milar rubbing off the drum. the only other thing is if a tech used a Rag to clean the main charge grid there would be a fuzzy from the rag on the grid spikes inside. If it is on the spike part it will cause a VOID area. if it is on the grid often it will be black.

during the period of having white line, a few more thin white lines started to appear in other places. i changed the laser and now back to the perfect copy.

Very unusual. Can you scan a few image samples?

        Thanks for sharing. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
