    AR-M350 L6-10 code

    MFP-TB-001..PDF

Based on the other copytechnet posts for this code I'm considering replacing the entire laser unit. Many people only replace the polygon mirror motor assembly. Thoughts? The Sharp tech bulletin MFP-TB-001 seems to indicate that only the polygon mirror motor needs replacement.

    Re: AR-M350 L6-10 code

I personally have always replaced the assembly, and had 100% success. It is my understanding that the guys that replace the polygon mirror motor only discover that about 1/3 of those laser units have some other problem. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The whole assembly is only $170.00. For that price I think I'll go with Blackcats advice and replace the LSU but thanks for replying my friend.

Ok....thought I'd post pics of the L6-10 repair for other techs .

              Arm 350 front veiw.JPG
Here is the Arm350 with mail bin assy. To get to the laser the mail bin assy must be removed.
              mail bin front cover.JPG
open mail bin front cover & remove top left screw(and pull the release bracket out) and 2 screws at the bottom by the blue plastic

                Arm350 rear veiw1.JPGArm350 rear veiw2.JPG
At the rear the two securing screws at the bottom of the mail bin must be removed also.
                mail bin assembly removed.JPG
Then you can carefully pull out the bin assy and set it aside

                  right side cover.JPGhard working tech.JPG

Now you can get at the right side cover and remove it.
                  inside veiw2.JPG
Now your inside and need to unplug the connecters on the board below the laser and remove the 4 screws that secure it.
                  inside veiw3.JPGinside veiw4.JPG
I just swing it out to the right so I can get to the fan and internal plate that you need to remove next.....
                  inside veiw5.JPGinside veiw6.JPGinside veiw7.JPG
Then pull out the laser. Now your almost done.
                  Arm 350 new laser.JPG
Install the new LSU and carefully reconnect all the connectors and reassemble the copier. If all goes well and it fires up without the code ....... Ya did Gr8.

Hope this post helps someone in the future.

Without the mailbin it's a 10 minute job (especially if you scribe the slotted hole on the laser, for optical skew). Maybe 1/2 hour with the mail bin or AR-FN6.

There were some early production machines that it's considerably more difficult to pull the laser. The metal plate the fits around the laser didn't always come out quite so easily. Those early machines took 3 hours or more, with practice. =^..^=

I know.....Some of the arm280's were like that. Lol. Removing the mail bin wasn't too bad but you have to be careful with it or you can break off some of the plastic pieces....
