Sharp MX-2600 Black Line on copies

Copies have black lines on the bottom. Only copies through the document feeder tray, not scans or files sent to the copier/printer. Glass has been cleaned and checked for problems. Service technician cannot diagnose. Any ideas?

The glass was cleaned ... but was the slit glass cleaned? Both sides? With alcohol? And the rest of the optics? Sometimes dirt on the optics can show up through the slit glass, but not off the contact glass. And the scanner rails? Were they cleaned and lubricated? Sometimes a sticky or dry scanner rail can cause the mirrors to tip at the end of the travel (under the slit glass).

If your claims are accurate, and there is no line on prints, it is by definition an optical problem, whether its caused by the white plate, slit glass, contact glass, mirrors, or lens. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Also check for a scratch on the slit glass.

Step one is to find an actual service tech as this is so basic even I knew it by the end of my first day.

Look at the lines - do they go all the way across the page without a margin (I suspect not). If not, it is not the drum. Next step - take a blank sheet and make a copy from the glass. If there was a line, check ccd. If no line, make copy via DF. If you now have a line, it is someting on/under the slit glass or possibly a reflection. After a good glass cleaning, make sure you also clean the white area on the underside of the DF as it can cause a reflection.

All the above ass_u_me you are getting the line for single sided copies/prints.
