Re: Sharp MX-M450N APOD_N Jam Codes
It sounds like you covered a lot of ground on that one service call. Sometimes all it takes is a fresh look or fresh eyes, and you think "How could I have missed that! It's so obvious now."
My compliments on your initial post. You're very thorough in explaining what you've seen, what codes, and what you've done. Threads like this are frequently resolved in one or two posts. No game of 20 questions necessary. Excellent work.

Re: Sharp MX-M450N APOD_N Jam Codes
Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I went back to the customers office today and found out that I did not replace/check the Reverse Gate as I previously stated. One of the ribs was broken closest to the machine front side. So, I feel embarrassed that I bothered everyone on this and caused the customer more grief because I got into a hurry! They had some server issues that I was also addressing that day and I guess got distracted, but this is still no excuse.
Mea Culpa.
On another note, I ran into some unique copy quality issues on an MX-M950N today. It was a result of a bad connector on the HVPS for the main charge corona unit. I will post these later for future reference. I thought these were interesting copies.
Thanks again guys!

It's not paper cuts that you're looking for. It's either lumps of toner, a broken end, or warping of the reversing guide. This is the only situation in which I've ever seen this code appear. My suggestion? Replace the gate. =^..^=Leave a comment:

I have also seen where the FN6 solenoid does not engage properly causing the copy to skew when it reversesLeave a comment:

Re: Sharp MX-M450N APOD_N Jam Codes
Does the duplexer make a louder paper crumpling (best description I can make!) noise when it starts to feed the 2nd side? Have been seeing more of this type problem recently and have been cleaning the duplex unit one way gear and rollers. Seems to help. I haven't been getting the APOD jams though. The only time we got those there was something wrong with the sensor flag on the exit of the duplexer.
Good luck.
