    Image Quality on MX-7001 ?

We've steered clear of this size machine due to lack of high volume customers for color. But I'm wondering if the image quality is good enough to compare to a new Toshiba 6550c. Don't really have any other options, Toshiba is 65ppm color/black, Sharp is 50/70.
If image quality is no better than an MX-3501n, I guess we'll bail on the proposal. Any thoughts are appreciated, MX-5001/5110 stye probably won't cut it for 25K color/month due to the small toner yield (high cost per page).

The 7001 is the same generation machine as the 3501 and the image quality is okay to pretty good depending on what the customer is looking for. I've only been to school on them so don't have any field experience to relate. Don't know about the Tosh machine.

    Good luck.

if the customer is picky you will be there often. If you aren't going to place several of these I would stay away.

I agree with the above statement wholeheartedly. They run good for about 200k, then the problems start. Mostly CQ and fuser related. They can be troublesome. The only ones that have consistent quality are the ones with a Fiery attached.

Thanks for the replies, we decided against the idea. Maybe Sharp will get around to making a reliable faster color unit one day.
