Had i similar fault today on a Mx4501 .. turns out someone incorrectly plugged the cables into the mother board? and not the scan power board.
    food for thought ?

Try updating the firmware first. Ver 01.15.D0 (ICU Main) is the most recent from May 2010. Have fixed almost all of these types of issues with an update.

      Good luck.

"its the 1st time for me to visit sharp mx3001 showing message maintenance required (t.a)... It was light and dirty copy.. Cleaned optic section and toner waste bottle area now working ok but need to know more about it how to enter in simulation mode and what is the admin password ?? How to reset this message ? Any idea ?"
m alam do you perhaps mean MX-3100?
Unless password has been changed it is: admin

There is a lot of particulars for these color machines. Cleaning and dirty images can get into a lot of issues. Quite often, it is the charge units. The charge unit kits are generally fairly inexpensive and much less headaches to put in new one than to try and clean. BE careful as to how all fits into rear of unit and how blade is held by felt.

There is also the MX3000 and then there is the MX5001 so not certain which you are speaking of.
