Customer has arm 450 that after 1-2 weeks 2-4k copies, will quit feeding from tray 1. Feed rollers just don't pick up paper. Give rollers a quick wash and all is fine. Have replaced rollers, same thing. Cust is using good paper, and not running anything odd thru machine. Have also tried switching paper, same results. Could this be a clutch problem? Any ideas appreciated.

I think clutches are unlikely. I had machines with 3M that have never had clutches.
I did have a similar situation though:
I had a customer complaining that that COM10 envelopes misfeed from tray#1. Each time I'd visit, I would clean the rollers, then run ~100 envelopes no jams. Envelopes can be a pain, especially if they won't lay flat in the tray, but these did lay flat.
After several of these visits I did a little rummaging in the supply cabinet, and found some glossy coated envelopes. After about 50 of these envelopes, the tires were coated enough that they wouldn't feed a single page. When I pointed out these envelopes, I was told they only ran about 100 of these each week (which would explain my once a week visits), and then the regular cheapie envelopes were re-loaded (which is why I never had any trouble with the standard media).
The residual from this coated media looked like candle wax on the tires, cleaned off easily with orange cleaner, then built up quickly again when the wrong envelopes were used again.
=^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I had a similar problem with tray one on the same model. It would feed fine for a while but then not pick up from tray one. It was the lift motor on tray one. sometimes it would slip when rising and no paper would feed. I put a full ream of paper in the tray and ran 250 copies and watched the lift motor. right before it jammed you could see it turn slightly in reverse. I have replaced four or five motors for this problem.Comment
