Toner cooling fan should win out, its a small one i believe, Ive seen it several times, there was an update about installing 2 fans in place of one on the larger version mx3501-4501 because it was such a problem the first year of production. I dont remember if its in the test command. sometimes Sharp skips some of their component output test. always good to upgrade the firmware after installing a new fan, these were on backorder from sharp a few months ago. but should be able to get them now or using the vendor number written on the fan.
The fan blades are normally the problem there is a new fan available. it may run interm. and continue to run but check the fans below the black toner there are 2 small fans. make sure they are operational.
Are you sure? The Service manual is specific to error code L4-30 as being only the HDD fan or Controller PCB fan.

We have a client with a Sharp MX-2300N displaying Error Code L4-30 I checked the fans at above the Fuser and at the controller and the HDD , they all turn at start up so I am at a loss as to what is causing the Code. We mostly work on the Ricoh line of machines and we would be grateful for any input on this problem. Thank you in advance.

There are 9 fans on this machine, if you look at page 5-14 of service manual it will show locations. You can test the fans with sim 6-2. If all the fans work I would guess PWB problem. Hope that helps.
I just noticed that in Simulation 6-2 there is OZFM, POFM, & PSFM test options but no way to turn on HDDFM or CPUFM which happen to be the fans for the HDD and controller board. So how can one test those fan. Thanks for anyone's input.

We don't have the service manual but thank you for the info. Would you be able to post the page. Thank you very much.
