    Ar337 Oldie but goodie

The machine has a line down the back where it should be blank area, its not mechanical and show up on drum even if you are running R style. A new line appeared down the middle I reset the machine and it went away.
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanx

I'm a little unclear as to whether the line is in the crossfeed direction or in the feed direction. The line is on the backside of a single sided copy, yes? Do these lines appear on internal prints or reports?

If your line is in the crossfeed direction:
Smudge on the backside of prints & copies, along the trail edge. Fades away after 5 or more consecutive prints. The white paint wears through on the pre-transfer guide plate. Toner collects on the bare steel, possibly because it is retaining a charge. Replace the S/T corona unit.

If I have something incorrect please let me know. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Its not a blade failure it seem like the laser is not shoting light for the erase to occur. It could be the transfer corona now that you mention it, but the line does not go away after 5 or 10 prints.there is an edge erase around the 3 sides but not on the rear side when running letter, line does not appear on image in letter R but the line is on the drum thats what has me puzzled.Thanx,'DA

So the line is in the feed direction, or the crossfeed direction? =^..^=

I can't really think of anything else applicable. How about this: Black line in the feed direction, that extends through the void areas on AR-335. Toner on primary grid. Clean the primary grid & sawtooth. What happens when you emergency stop the machine with the paper under the drum? =^..^=

I have a feeling its the charge corona or grid. It does show on print and copy and if a sheet goes thru landscape and I emergancy stop it the line is on the drum but only where the image area is.

Check your corona end blocks. Cracks or any damage to these can cause arching to the drum. If this is the case, replacing the corona wires themselves will not fix it.

I changed out the charge corona but not the xfer sep corona, do you think it could be those? Its a very consistant line it almost like the laser has something blocking it there but the line is not all the way around the drum
                  Thanx

The transfer and seperation corona end blocks could be the issue. If they look like they are cracked or burnt then they could be arching to the drum from there. A visual inspection of the blocks will tell you. These are the yellow plastice blocks at the front and rear of the coronas. You can also cheat the front door and watch as paper passes over them for an arch.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did take the xfer sep block apart and did the smell test, couldnt see it arc but I will look again. It just didnt make sense that it would be those blocks but heck I will try anything the mach only has like 80k on it and the church is low on cash.
