[CQ] MX 5111 Light on Black

I have seen this on a couple of machines now, after a few thousand prints the black and composite black starts to get very light. I have rerun the calibration and it helps a little but it always seems to stay on the light side until the developer is changed during pm time. Have any of you had experience with this issue, any help is much appreciated.

here is a copy of the 64-6 64-6.pdf

Have not found a solid fix but have seen this on allmost every machine in this series. What I have been doing is setting the default exposure to text. The black fill is a lot better.

After you do a full color calibration, run SIM 63-8 and 67-28. These are used to lock in the targets.

I have done the save as target 63-8 and 67-28 at set up as well as the grid and bias adjustments. it always looks good at the beginning, but like our demo machine for instance, it mostly gets 80 to 90 percent fill in color prints for demos and after a short while the quality (usually black) goes down hill, even if you do the entire calibration process again, it never looks as good as it did at setup or after a pm. I didnt know if its just something these machines normally do, or if i am actually missing something here,
          Thanks for your replys guys!

You may have the developer slowly being pulled from the developer unit. Sharp has an updated lid for the developer unit lid, part number PCOVP1844FCZ5. When replacing this lid you will also want to replace the charge unit. The problem you are having is that the developer unit is dusting toner that is building up on the charge unit. This will pull toner out of the developer unit so fast that you start using developer on your copies. You may also get lines on your black copies from this.
