How to reset the admin password on sharp mx-2310u ? can't use & show the sim 24-30 to reset the admin password.. Anyone can help me how to reset ..

I can get into simulation mode,But there was no sim code to reset the admin password like other model to use the sim 24-30 ...

"The 24-30 admin password reset function has been removed completely, so if the admin password is forgotten...... the MFP & PCU eeproms must be sent back to Sharp for reset."

Note: this info was from 2 years ago, i don't know if it has changed or not.

I can reset the admin password by change the sd card from the other machine mx-2010u,because the mx-2010u need to install HD,the mx-2010u's HD option has a other Blue sd card.. so I can install this mx-2010's black sd card to the mx-2310u,but I want to find the other way to fix this ..

As Zootech said you need to send Eeproms back to Sharp.

There is a dipswtich on the pcb that needs to be switched on, it is right by the dipswitch for the data security switch that is turned on when enabling data security. When it swiched on the machine will boot right into the 24-30 for admin password reset.

I have heard recently that by settting the dip switches a certain way it can be done. I've never tried so I cannot verify this. I also for life life of me who informed me of this.

I know it's old, but have to fix anyway .anybody know how to disassemble? Manual is not much good.

Not sure how this ended up in this thread, any how just take out the toner, developer unit and drum unit. Remove doc feeder if one. Remove cassettes. If after top tray roller and it has the rollors that are permanently attached remove bottom tray assy 4 screws. One at each corner. Disconnect wire harness that runs between machine and second cassette. Lift copier off cassette and stand on left end. Remove screw that holds second cassette drive gear and remove gear assy. Remove e-ring that locates bushing on feed shaft. Slide feed shaft towards clutch end drop down and remove Shaft. If newer style roller just pull out cassette and reach in and rotate roller half turn and unclip rollers and pull down.

Turn off mfp
Flip Small micro switchesnear edge of MFP board next to serial port, move both of them up
MFP will then Auto Prompt sim24-30 when powered back on to ResetAdmin Password
Turn off mfp and set bothswitches back to original positions

Thats not the same password..

Your only changing the hidden service webpage password (service) not the system settings web page password (admin)...
