sharp arm257 error code a0-01

i have a sharp arm 257 i have added a fax board to it however when i start it up i get the error code a0-01 which is a Security incompatibility error the board worked on the same model machince i toke it from i also replaced the board with other off a working machince my question is is there a reset that i have to do or what?

Does either machine have a Data security Kit? If one did and the other did not this would show.

The security kit came with 3 ROMs, one for the printer board, the MCU, and the fax option. If you don't have the fax ROM, you would have to purchase another security kit to make the fax work. That is why when I install a security kit, I'll tape the original ROMs and any extra ROMs inside the covers of the machine for future use.

You can order the MCU ROM and the PCL ROM, basically removing the DSK.

nks for the reply however i am an apprentice copier tech i've work on copier for under a year now. my boss doesnt know either what is it you can tell about these security kit is there a picture that can be supplied so i can know what it loks like so i can mve on from there. I would ever like to learn more about these

Run TC 22-10, that will tell you if there is a DSK; also, on the display there will be a "padlock" that indicates it has a DSK.

in the machine where are these boards

ok i found the msu but not pcl
the msu loks like twin of the the other board how can you tell one a non dsk msu to a dsk msu

alright from toying around with the copier setting and wacthing it do it thing i've deducted that the dsk was made copy protection deleteing its info of the copy job that was job now does it
dsk affect the address book or any other thing on the copier. now what is the reasoning behind of having a DSK on the copier and what are its pros and cons
